Changelog

What changed in each build of Bucketree, latest first.

1.0.0 (770), 20 September 2026

Copy and paste files and folders between folders and buckets, with a move that takes every version. New Folder. Paste says how many files and how long before it starts. Folders can be downloaded. Toolbar buttons keep their shape, and can show titles from the toolbar's own menu. Tooltips and sheets say less, and say it the same way everywhere. Several files can be deleted at once. Small fixes.

1.0.0 (741), 17 September 2026

Small fixes.

1.0.0 (738), 17 September 2026

Click a column heading to sort, and Bucketree now remembers your column widths, order and visibility. Buying or starting a trial now activates Bucketree straight from your browser, and a copied key is offered automatically. Small fixes.

1.0.0 (730), 17 September 2026

Double-click a column divider to fit the column to its contents. Small fixes.

1.0.0 (720), 16 September 2026

Large folders now load the rest of their files as you scroll, and the count says "so far" until it is complete. The licence banner no longer hides the folder path and column headings.

1.0.0 (713), 16 September 2026

Fixes an activation error some licence keys could hit. Nothing else changes.

1.0.0 (694), 15 September 2026

Bucket settings: SSE-B2 can be turned on, and shows as on when the bucket reports it. Backblaze now encrypts new files by default and no longer turns it off, so the off position is gone.

Values in bucket settings and replication details now sit at the right edge of their rows, in line with the controls.

1.0.0 (687), 15 September 2026

Built with the current developer tools for macOS 27. Nothing else changes.

1.0.0 (656), 12 September 2026

Updates now come from updates.bucketree.app. Nothing else changes.

1.0.0 (635), 12 September 2026

The first release.

What 1.0.0 shipped with

The first release. What it does, in the order you are likely to meet it:

Browse buckets and folders, current files or every version, with hide markers shown as what they are. Quick Look, Get Info, share links with a real expiry.

Upload and download with checksums verified and reported, folders in both directions, and abandoned large uploads surfaced and resumable.

Search one bucket or every bucket by name, extension, size, date, kind and encryption, and act on the results wherever they are.

Migrations and Replications: copy a bucket to another bucket or account, done by Backblaze on its own servers, with a scan first that says what will not come across. Every version replicates, older ones included.

Delete a bucket that is not empty in one operation, with one confirmation listing what goes and the bucket’s name typed.

Clean Up: what a bucket stores but no listing shows, by group with sizes, removed on your say.

Application keys created, scoped and revoked in the app, with the secret shown once.

Bucket settings in one sheet: lifecycle rules, CORS, Object Lock and default retention, SSE-B2, per-file retention and legal hold.

Storage pane, Activity Log recording every destructive action, dark appearance, and colour that means severity only.

Requires macOS 26 or later on Apple silicon. Updates arrive through the application.

How updates reach you

The application checks for new versions itself and installs them with your permission. Updates are served over HTTPS from this site, and every build is signed with an Apple Developer ID and notarized by Apple, which is what allows macOS to run it without warning you.

A version reads as a number and a build, like 1.0.0 followed by a build number in brackets. The build number identifies the exact code, which is what makes a bug report answerable.
